Description

The iPad is a tablet computer from Apple with a multi-touch screen, 0.5 inches thick and 1.5 pounds in weight. Apple announced it on January 27, 2010, and the base model cost $499.

Importance

The iPad used the software and the App Store of the iPhone on a 9.7-inch screen. Apple sold more than 300,000 iPads in the United States by the end of the first day, April 3, 2010. On that day, iPad users also downloaded more than one million apps from the App Store.

Interesting fact

Apple sold one million iPads in 28 days, less than half the 74 days that the iPhone needed.
